Hello Friends.
Welcome to the year 2020. Do you have a list of goals in mind for this year? I have a few and I thought, what better way to firm up my commitment to my plan than to put it in writing and tell the world all about it.
I’m talking about my passion for making my jewelry. I often call this my “metal playground”. Making jewelry continues to be the thing that I just can’t seem to get enough of on a regular basis. It never gets old. It’s the way I relax and meditate and re-energize myself.
I feel like every year that I make jewelry I further refine my practice. It’s a practice, just like any other practice. If I were to want to get better at playing the piano, I’d need to practice playing the piano more often. I want to continue to learn and grow in my metal playground and I feel like I’ll continue to do so by consistently practicing and trying to do new things with it.
I think the thing I’m most excited about for this year is that I’m going to begin teaching what I know to others who are interested in learning. So far, I have two live workshops scheduled. One is now full, but there are still spots available in the “Bronze Bliss” workshop I’ll be teaching Saturday, March 7th. Early bird pricing is still available. So, if you are interested in learning more about it, click here.
Another thing I’m excited to do this year is make more of my art dolls. I’ve made these in the past. They are assemblages of bits and pieces of found items mixed with some of my metal creations. I go really slow when making these dolls because I have to wait until they speak to me and tell me their story. Sounds weird but I swear it’s true. I’d love to make a series of these dolls this year. I just need to make the time and open up my ears, listen to their stories and use my creativity to then tell you their stories. When I’ve made these dolls in the past, they’ve sold pretty darn quickly, which makes me happy because it gives me the space to make more. And you know how much l love making things.
I’d also like to create some on-line workshops. One I have in the works is called "Banner Love". In this workshop I’ll be teaching how to create the banners and backdrops I use in my art show booth display. I get so many questions about how I made the banners that this one just makes sense to me. But I have all kinds of ideas of other on-line workshops I’d like to create for you. If you are interested, please send me an E-mail and let me know. If you really want to help me out, then let me know what you are most interested to learn.
Well, I feel like that’s kind of a lot for me to work on, in addition to working on living my life and all the things that go along with that. So, I'm going to leave my list at that for now. I mean until some other ideas that sounds fun and cool to me pops into my head.
Wish me luck.
What’s on your list for 2020?
xoxo
Marcia
